How to make ghee

Ghee is one of the most valuable foods and medicines known. Ghee may be used in place of butter. it is the best cooking oil taking high heat without burning.

Ghee keeps indefinitely without refrigeration its actually best store in a dark cupboard.

You can purchase ghee now in many stores but there is just something special about making it yourself and the flavour and quality is way better and when made with purpose, intent and love all those who try it will benefit.

Ingredients:

1 x 500g of organic unsalted butter (or 2x 500g depending on how much you need)

Instructions:

Place butter in a heavy based saucepan preferably stainless steel over medium heat.

Melt the butter with minimal stirring allow to boil and bubble foam will rise to the surface, pay attention lower heat if you need.

The foam will dissipate and once you see the top dissolving and you can see the milk solids sink to the bottom you can gently skim top to see the golden liquid underneath.

Ghee will give off a rich smell that lets you know its ready, the key is to not over do it or it will burn.

Let it cool down then strain into a clean glass jar.

Practice makes perfect, dont give up, I’ve been there burnt the ghee and now have it down to a fine art.

Play some beautiful music, infuse the ghee with love and goodness and you will reap the benefits.
